AMBER ALERT: Police say four children were kidnapped from Maraj Yakapali Road in The Leap near Mackay.
Queensland Police issued an Amber Alert after four young children were removed from a property near Mackay on Thursday night.
Police said the children, ages 8, 7, 4 and 3, were taken from The Leap’s property north of Mackay around 11:30 a.m. Thursday by a man named Joshua Carter of The Leap. After that, you may be in serious danger. he is known to them.
Police are seeking urgent public assistance to locate the children. All children are described as white in appearance, with slim builds and brown hair.
Police said Carter, a 28-year-old Caucasian burly man, was seen removing children from the Maraj Yakapali Road in a white 2005 Nissan Patrol 4WD vehicle (registration number 063BC9).
The vehicle was last seen heading onto McKay’s Bruce Highway.
Carter is about 175 cm tall, has a shaved head and a bushy beard, and has multiple tattoos on his face and body, including Batman’s “Joker”-themed facial tattoo.
Anyone with information about a kidnapping is encouraged to call 131 564 or triple 0 for life threatening information.
