Australia should ‘build nuclear power plants’

The government’s climate change bill for a 43% legislated emission cut has passed the House of Representatives. The bill would apply to all carbon-emitting projects that raise public concerns about electricity supply.

“This is a long-term solution to our problem, and we need a short-term solution,” Wilde told Sky News host Cory Bernardi.

“There is an urgent need to solve this chronic shortage of thermal power by expanding existing plants and building new ones rather than closing coal-fired plants.”
