The firefighters’ main focus is the Moama area, where the RFS has set up two base camps that can accommodate 550 people.

Dean Narramore, senior meteorologist at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM), has cast a cloud over the forecast and warned that a different system could begin to develop from Sunday.

“Unfortunately, over the next week, southern Queensland hinterland, New South Wales hinterland, northern Victoria and South Australian hinterland all saw widespread fall of 50-100mm,” Naramore said. said.

“This is not good news for many flood-affected areas.”

“We are dealing with a lot of things right now.

“In Victoria we will see another weather system move into the state from tomorrow…we plan whatever they (BoM) are projecting.”
