Australian influencer Indy Clinton sparked controversy over fake tanning before giving birth

Sydney’s mother caused controversy after she uploaded a video of her wearing a faux tongue and getting her hair done before going to the hospital to induce her baby.

influencer Indy ClintonAlready has a son uploaded to TikTok preparing for the birth of her daughter.

In the video, Indy gets a manipedi, blow-dries and styles her hair, puts on a fake tan, and refreshes her makeup before heading to the hospital.

In the clip she says: Do I want to look ugly when pushing my child out? No. “

But another TikTok user, who calls himself a recovering tanaholic, said the comment was harmful.

“When you have such a large platform, this is the kind of message you need to think before you say,” the woman said.

“Because I’m not wearing a fake tan, in other words, I’m pale, so to say I don’t want to look ugly when I’m trying to push my baby out is extremely harmful.

“This is the kind of shit that made me feel obsessed with and dependent on fake tans for 12 years to feel beautiful.”

She said she was empowering Indy and said she had no hate, but urged her to think before making comments like this.

And it’s not just your appearance that matters. In a follow-up video posted on the day of her inauguration, Indy is seen plucking her husband’s eyebrows.

“You can’t have a single brow when you go into labor,” she said, putting tweezers to his face.

However, some people supported their mothers by saying that they had done something similar before giving birth.

“Looking hot in labor gets big approval from this doula. Navy stole the show last time,” one wrote.

Another said: Good luck with your birth. ”

The rest of the video sees Indy picking up Navy from daycare, revealing she was crying as she received a gift for Navy from her daughter, grabbed groceries, and was finally about to give birth.

The influencer continued to provide updates and refreshed her makeup leading up to her birth.

The Clintons have since welcomed a daughter, Bambi Valentine.

“Our daughter is here,” the mother captioned an Instagram photo of herself looking beaming holding her newborn in a hospital bed.

The post was soon flooded with congratulations and comments from fellow influencers and followers about her glowing skin and perfectly styled hair.
