With all eyes on the Birmingham track, Australia’s next Commonwealth Games star appeared more than 8000km away.

Callabrough from Queensland finished third in the Under-20 World Championships 200m final with a time of 20.48.

Already considered one of the fastest teens Australia has ever produced, the 18-year-old ran what he called “the race of his life” in Cali, Colombia.

He finished behind Blessing Akawasi Afrifah (Israel) and Lesile Tebogo (Botswana) with a time of 19.96 seconds.

This is a new championship record, surpassing the Commonwealth Games record of 19.97 set by Frankie Fredericks in 1994.

Law’s time set a new personal best after reaching the semi-finals in the 200 m at the recent World Athletics Championships, reinforcing his claim as one of Australia’s top sprint prospects.

Law finished 21st in the world in the Eugene event.

She used to compete in the 100m, but dropped out to focus on the 200m.

After setting a new PR in the semifinals, he told Athletics Australia: I was going to run faster than that, but the rain delay made it feel like three hours, and I took a short nap until half an hour ago. I’m just naturally relaxed and don’t put too much pressure on myself because I use too much energy. ”

The final was slower than the semi-final due to headwinds.

Family endangered in bicycle accident

A family involved in a horrific bicycle accident at the Commonwealth Games feared for their lives.

A shocking accident occurred in the men’s scratch race when Britain’s Matt Walls collided with another rider at high speed and flew over a barrier into the crowd.

Cycling fan Hugh Colvin was watching with his two children, ages 5 and 7, and a few family friends when Walls jumped the barrier.

Colvin’s wife, Laura, wasn’t at the velodrome, but spoke of the terror:

“And our two young children were on the verge of being seriously injured or even killed. And that’s the main thing we’ve had to reflect on in the last few days.”

Colvin himself told the BBC:

“You can see the trail of the bike. It went through and grazed my daughter’s shoulder. In one of the photos you can clearly see it under the wheel.

“Looking back at the picture, it must have been within centimeters and millimeters of our heads.”

Early reports from a Birmingham 2022 spokesperson said three riders were taken to hospital and two injured fans only needed treatment by doctors at the scene.

But one of the family’s friends went to the hospital, Mrs. Colvin said.

“He’s still awaiting surgery, the beginning of his long road to recovery.”

She also revealed that Walls made video calls to the children to help them understand what happened.

“TWERKER” Appears in COMM GAMES Report

A rugby fan stunned BBC cameras with a twist when he was filmed in the crowd during a Commonwealth game.

Rugby sevens action was interrupted as one fan showed off her dance and her butt.

The camera caught three women enjoying a day in Coventry at the Commonwealth Games.

But when a fan in the middle found herself on the big screen, she held the moment with both hands.

After taking a sip of her drink, the supporter stood up, turned his butt to the camera, and began twisting.

Her friends were hysterically left out for the coming-of-age performance, but the BBC team was caught completely off guard.

A stunned BBC commentator said there was “a lot of dancing” going on in the crowd before the cameras quickly cut back to the action of the match.
