Australian cycling star Grace Brown dominated the women’s time trial at Wolverhampton to win her first Commonwealth Games gold medal.
The 30-year-old Brown was a pre-race favorite, clocking 40:5.20 over the 28.8km course.
England’s Anna Henderson was second in 40:38.55 and New Zealand’s Georgia Williams took bronze in 41:25.27.
Australia’s Georgia Baker was fourth and Sarah Roy was ninth.
Brown finished fourth in last year’s Olympic time trial and is a two-time national champion in the discipline.
Australia swept four road gold medals at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Rohan Dennis will take on Welsh ace Geraint Thomas in the men’s time trial later on Thursday.
The men’s and women’s road races are held at Warwick on Sunday.
