Jones mocks LIV Golf’s ‘exhibition’ tag

Two-time Australian Open champion Matt Jones has dismissed suggestions that LIV Golf is a series of “exhibition” tournaments.

The 42-year-old Jones, who has played in all seven LIV golf tournaments, lamented the ‘Keyboard Warrior’ decision after Sunday’s final round at the Royal Greens and Country Club.

“Come here and don’t talk until you’ve experienced it,” Jones told AAP Sports.

“There are a lot of keyboard warriors out there who sit behind computers and judge everything people do for a living without ever having to go out and experience it.

“If there are people who judge by watching YouTube or LIV TV, you should come here and experience it.”

Jones added that he saw his fellow players working harder than they did on the PGA Tour.

“I’ve seen guys who grind harder here than they do on the PGA Tour because I have time. Our bodies aren’t getting hit week after week, so we spend more time in the gym to stay fit and healthy.” can be obtained.

“And financially, there’s a lot to be gained from playing well here. Livelihoods are at stake. Some players are on one-year contracts and will play next year.”

After finishing 45th in a 48-man field and taking home $203,000, Jones said:

The LIV Golf Invitational Jeddah tournament was won by Koepka in a three-hole playoff against fellow American Peter Uihlein.

Koepka earned $6.2 million for the win and another $1.2 million for being part of the winning Smash GC team.

Uihlein finished in second place, winning $4.6 million and a quarter of the team’s prize money.

The final round started at 12:15pm local time with multiple big explosions of lime green and aqua smoke. But when play began, LIV Golf’s motto, “Golf, but loud,” was closer to “Golf, but almost eerily quiet.”

Royal Greens is located in King Abdullah Economic City, 90 km north of Jeddah. Designed as a $100 billion megacity of 2 million people, KAEC (pronounced “cake”) has 7,000 inhabitants. A city where money is forgotten.

A half-built infrastructure sits in an empty semi-arid land. Huge ghost suburbs line golf courses, streets are dotted with ramps, but homeless.

No one seems to live where stately mansions and villas have been built. The four-lane highways and palm-lined boulevards are as nearly empty as the desert they weave.

The Royal Green had minimal shade for spectators, golfers and caddies. A light breeze was blowing from the west of the Red Sea, but according to one caddy, “I hardly felt it. It was wild outside.”

The largest, and clearly happiest, group of spectators could be found hitting the ball into the Red Sea from the alcohol-free Hospitality Pavilion on the signature par-3 16th hole.

The best Australian at the Royal Greens is 22-year-old Queenslander Jed Morgan, 7 ahead of Cameron Smith (5-under, joint 21st), Mark Leishman and Wade Ormsby (both 1-under, joint) Finished tied for 12th at under. -35th) and Jones (3-over, 45th).
