Deadly McKinney Fires in California Captured in Satellite Imagery

Four people have been confirmed dead as the McKinney fire raged through northern California’s Siskiyou County, the Siskiyou County Emergency Services Department said. The fire, which has burned 57,519 acres (about 90 square miles), rose to a 10% containment rate on Wednesday, August 3. Because weather conditions helped firefighters tackle the blaze. The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office announced that evacuation orders have been downgraded to evacuation warnings in some areas, but warned residents to prepare to evacuate again.
