Death Valley flash floods from heavy rains, Springs Stream in surrounding area

Heavy rains hit Death Valley National Park (DVNP) and surrounding areas on Friday, August 5, causing flash floods and road closures. Footage shot by Laura Cunningham shows water winding its way through the desert near Beattie, a town in Nevada just east of Death Valley. As many as 1,000 of his people, including 500 visitors and his 500 park staff, were stranded at her DVNP when all roads to and from the park were closed on Friday. “There have been no reports of injuries to staff or visitors,” a park official said.
