fox footy Visions from the pitch at three-quarters showed Petty and Zorko in a confrontation that included a shove.

Other players and the referee then intervened.

After the incident, Petty was said to be visibly shaken.

Fellow Demons defender Stephen May put his arm around Petty, who was also seen talking to Mark Williams, Troy Chaplin, and Goodwin.

“Petz was getting a little emotional at the third minute of quartertime. He walked off, reset himself and got back in the game,” Goodwin said.

“Brisbane are very sorry for us and that is the type of football club they are. They are a very respected and humble football club and we take their word for it. .”

Goodwin said Petty is “okay” now.

Melbourne coach Alan Richardson spoke to Lions’ Danny Daly about the incident.

Following the siren, we also saw a conversation between Petty and Zorko.

Daly said he apologized to Demons. Zorko is also said to have made amends to Petty, following Petty’s earlier remarks.

Lions manager Chris Fagan said Brisbane would look into the comments and urged the AFL to do so.

“Sure, something happened.

“We will definitely do our own investigation…and the AFL will do the same,” he told reporters.

“Sometimes Zorko did (looks annoyed). He is very passionate about our football club and would have been quite disappointed with what was unfolding.

“It worries me that one of our players has been involved in such an incident, but I don’t know enough about it to make a judgment yet.

Melbourne’s May told AFL Nation that Petty “wasn’t what he used to be” after the showdown.

“He’s a tough country boy…doesn’t rattle him too much.

“I finally spoke with Zorko and told him whatever you said, you crossed the line,” May added.

“He was quite remorseful, but he told me he didn’t say that. I think there was a misunderstanding.

“There is a line that should not be crossed on the field.”
