According to the Ocala Police Department (OPD), on Thursday, August 11, in the Ocala, Florida, area of ​​Ocala, a man driving a stolen vehicle was apprehended by a police dog after he “drove recklessly and fled.” Police responded to a call that a man stole a car in northeast Ocala and said they found the car in the Marion County town of Springs about an hour later. The suspect, later identified as her 35-year-old Dale Shrewsbury, was driving when police attempted to stop traffic, implicating both the OPD and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) at high speed. A chase was started which ended with Shrewsbury crashing the car. He drove off and attempted to flee on foot, only to be caught by MSCO K9. The chase lasted 21 minutes and ended about eight miles south of Silver Springs, police said. Shrewsbury “pushed several cars off the road” during the chase and “even crashed into an FWC police car in the process,” OPD said. Shrewsbury was charged with multiple counts, including eviction from the crash site with property damage, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
