Eleanor Patterson wins silver in Commonwealth Games high jump final; Jemima Montag walks gold

Australian world champion Eleanor Patterson fell short of the gold medal in the women’s high jump at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Patterson missed three attempts at 1.95m and won the silver medal in countback with 1.92m clearance.

The 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist came out less than three weeks after winning the World Championships in Eugene.

Jamaica’s Ramallah Distin won gold in Birmingham after clearing 1.95 m.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Jemima Montag won gold in the women’s 10,000m walk with a new competition record of 42:34.30.
