Frankston South: Luxurious beachfront mansion relisted at $3 million price cut

636 Nepean Highway, Frankston South has been relisted at a $3 million markdown.

A gorgeous Frankston South mansion overlooking the ocean has been relisted with a $3 million haircut at the asking price.

However 2/636 Nepean Highway Home is on track to break suburban records by over $1 million.

It first went public last October for a whopping $15.5 million to $17 million, drawing attention as a potential hideout for Hugh Jackman and the stepfather of Deborra-Lee Furness, who is said to have inquired about the house.

We didn’t A-lister buy, but the $3 million markdown might change your mind as the sprawling 7,435-square-meter property is currently listed for between $11 million and $12 million.

Aqua Real Estate Mount Eliza’s Michelle Skoglund said the reduction was due to a third parcel of land, as the 1/636 Nepean Highway block is also on the market for $3 million.

Skoglund added that the previous listing agency wasn’t from the area and was “very ambitious” with the asking price.

She said the price cuts make the home an exciting opportunity for buyers.

“There are some celebrities we’re looking at right now, very old surnames and entertainers,” Skoglund said of the buyer demographic.

“People love the exclusivity of being a cliff-facing property with private beach access.”

The luxury home is located on a private beach at the foot of Oliver’s Hill on the sands of Dolphin Cove.

It was built over three years by vendors and Rawdon Hill Homes founders Geoff and Sue Hardie after demolishing a previous home that fell from its scaffolding.

They secured the new dwelling by installing a 13m deep foundation.

Hardy told the Herald Sun in a previous publication that he enjoyed watching whales and the occasional dolphin from the floor-to-ceiling windows in each room.

According to CoreLogic records, the couple paid $4.25 million for Block in 2003.

The current record for a suburb is held by a five-bedroom home at 86-88 Stotts Lane that sold for $9.75 million in 2019.
