Victorian Government to help develop digital skills in manufacturing – training and development

The Victorian government wants to help manufacturers build the digital skills of their staff with the help of a new grant scheme.

An application is now open for local manufacturers to receive up to $5000 towards improving the digital skills of their staff.

$4.5 million digital jobs in manufacturing The program will fund up to five employees in industry-recommended online, part-time digital courses in machine learning and AI, cloud computing, cyber security, data analytics, digital marketing, and more.

Courses also cover CRM skills, IT support, enterprise resource planning, product management, and other web design and user experience streams.

The 12-week training course is run through Victorian universities, TAFEs and training providers.

Courses are scheduled to run in January, May and September 2023, January and April 2024.

The program will also include additional specialized courses in Robotic Process Automation, Computer Aided Design or Manufacturing, and Additive Manufacturing in the May 2023 round.

Applications will open in mid-October and the program will run until June 2024.
