Apple unveils new 10th generation iPad with full-screen design

Apple redesigned the new 10th A generation iPad featuring a more square shape, an all-screen design and a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display.

Under the hood is the A14 bionic chip for even faster performance and greater power efficiency, delivering all-day battery life.

The new iPad will start at $749 and will be available on October 27th.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, said:

“With a large 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, powerful A14 Bionic chip, first-ever landscape front camera, high-speed wireless connectivity, USB-C, and support for great accessories like the new Magic Keyboard Folio, the new iPad delivers even more value. , more versatile and simply more fun.”

The new full-screen iPad is available in four finishes: blue, pink, yellow and silver.

The 10.9-inch liquid Retina display stretches edge-to-edge and the absence of a home button gives you more space to enjoy your apps, games, and content.

The screen size is larger than the 9th generation iPad, but the external dimensions of the main unit are almost the same.

The display has a resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels with 500 nits of brightness and True Tone technology.

With the home button gone, Touch ID has moved to the top button on the new iPads, making logging in, authorizing app downloads, and using Apple Pay just as easy.

In terms of performance, the A14 bionic chip offers 20% more CPU and 10% better graphics than its predecessor. That means the new iPad is up to five times faster than his best-selling Android tablet.

Up to 3x better overall performance when upgrading from an older iPad.

This processor also offers advanced machine learning capabilities thanks to its 16-core neural engine. This makes the new iPad a truly capable device that can handle everything from working on school projects, editing high-definition video, to playing the latest graphics-intensive games.

Apple has also moved the front-facing camera on the new iPads to the sideways edge. This is the first time the camera has been moved on an iPad.

This makes it easier for users to make FaceTime calls and video conferences, looking straight into the camera instead of constantly looking at it from the side.

Its front camera is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 122-degree field of view and supports center stage, so it automatically stays centered as you move around.

The 12-megapixel wide camera on the back of the new iPad produces high-definition images and can shoot 4K video with support for slow motion at 240 frames per second.

The on-board dual microphones work in tandem with your camera, allowing you to capture audio from the camera you’re using and also reduce distracting background noise.

The new iPad no longer has a Lightning port. It has been replaced by USB C, setting it apart from other iPads in the range.

The USB C port supports not only charging but also a wide range of accessories.

Apple also offers a new Magic Keyboard Folio designed specifically for the new iPad for customers who prefer a tactile typing experience with full-size keys, 1mm travel and a responsive feel.

The keyboard magnetically attaches to the smart connector on the edge of your iPad, providing both power and data, so you don’t need to charge or pair the keyboard. it just works.

The new iPads also run the new iPadOS 16, which includes improvements to Messaging, Mail, Safari, and the iCloud Shared Photo Library.

The new iPads are priced at $749 (64GB – wi-fi), $999 (256GB – wi-fi), $999 (64GB wi-fi + cellular), and $1,249 (256GB – wi-fi + cellular).

The 9th generation iPad will continue to be available in Wi-Fi only starting at $549 and in silver and space gray Wi-Fi + cellular models starting at $779.

The new Magic Keyboard Folio for the new iPad is $399 and comes in white only.

The new iPad Smart Folio is $129 and comes in white, sky, watermelon, and lemonade colors.

The new iPad is available for pre-order starting today and will be available on Thursday, October 27th.
