A popular children’s light has been urgently removed from shelves due to its lethal potential.
Happy Craft Supplies LED Nightlight has been recalled due to a problem with the included button battery.
Product Safety Australia said the lights have not been tested to mandatory standards for products containing button/coin batteries.
The light comes with an acrylic piece, a remote control with a button cell battery, and a black or white base.
Infants who access and eat button batteries are likely to suffer severe internal burns, which can result in serious injury or death.
There is also a choking hazard for young children.
The product was sold nationwide and online from June 22nd to 28th.
Affected consumers will be contacted by Happy Craft Supplies and asked to return the lights for the option of a replacement or a refund.
