Hurricane Delta Attacks Jefferson Davis Parish

Hurricane Delta landed on October 9 in the United States near Creole, Louisiana, as a Category 2 storm. The hurricane was reported as a Category 4 storm when it hit the Mexican coastline earlier that week. This video shows the rain and strong winds at Jennings in Jefferson Davis Parish that night. The National Hurricane Center reported that Delta landed at 6 pm CST. “In parts of southern Louisiana, damaging winds and life-threatening storm surges continue,” he said. Many residents along the Delta’s path were reportedly still recovering from Hurricane Laura, which struck Louisiana about six weeks ago. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency on October 7 in anticipation of landing. Credit: @WxGreg via Storyful
