Hurricane Delta Rush Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula

The Hurricane Delta landed in Mexico on early October 7 and struck the coastal areas of the Yucatan Peninsula with strong winds and heavy rain. This video, posted on Twitter by Mauricio Criado, shows the storm that struck Playa del Carmen after 5 am local time. The storm intensified into Category 4 on Tuesday night, but weakened into a Category 2 storm as it struck Mexico on Wednesday. According to the National Hurricane Center, states in the southern United States, including Louisiana and Mississippi, were expected to be affected by the storm starting Friday, October 9.
