Daughter stabbed violent criminal father in heart, jury says

young woman Stabbed Her violent criminal father stabbed him twice in the chest and pierced his heart after a heated argument when he called her a slut, jurors said.
In his opening address to Newcastle Supreme court Today’s juror, Crown Prosecutor Brian Costello, fled the scene after Madison Hickson was stabbed, telling a friend he wanted her “mummy.”

Costello said Hickson’s friend Tayla McDonald put the knife in the dishwasher and put it through the wash cycle.

MacDonald pleaded not guilty to one count of misleading police about the knife used in the stabbing to obstruct the discovery of evidence, and one count of being an accessory after the murder.

According to Costello, Carol got into an argument with her daughter while sitting in the living room after 7 p.m. and called her a slut.

Prosecutors said Hickson cursed at his father when he stood up and appeared to hug and hug each other, but not in a friendly manner.

Hickson then suddenly ran into the front yard, followed four seconds later by his father, who collapsed and died of two stab wounds in the heart.

Hickson said to a friend standing outside, “Take me to the mummy. I want the mummy.”

She then called her mother and said, “He attacked me. I think I stabbed my father.”

Costello said Hickson stabbed his father in a spontaneous reaction of anger and frustration after a violent argument.

But even if a jury believed she had been frightened, they could still convict her of manslaughter if they found that what she did was not a reasonable response in the circumstances. he said.

Attorney Peter Crisenthal said Hickson’s case was a fairly simple one, as she was only defending herself.

According to Krisenthal, Hickson ran out of the house after being stabbed and told a friend, “Keep me away from him (her father).”

He said Hickson was choked with emotion when he later told police: “He tried to stab me.”

Krisenthal said Hickson was 21 at the time and her father had not been by her side for most of her life because of his criminal lifestyle.

“Mr Carroll was prone to violence, including the use of weapons, and attacked and threatened people with whom he had dissatisfaction.

“Mr Carroll regularly resorted to physical violence if he didn’t like what someone said.”

Clisenthal said that Carroll was a convicted criminal who used a baseball bat and pliers to attack one of his victims and punched him in the stomach after his then-pregnant partner refused his request for an abortion. I outlined what I kicked.

Defense attorneys said Carol’s use of methamphetamine had made him paranoid and aggressive.

Hickson’s older sister, Lacey, told the court that they didn’t always live together because their father was frequently in prison.

She said she would visit them whenever her father was released from prison, and promised to return the next day, but never did.

“There wasn’t a year that he didn’t go to jail,” Hickson said.

She said Madison Hickson was one of his three daughters who most wanted a relationship with him, so she said she was most hurt when her father didn’t come back to see them.

“She was the one sitting on the curb crying when he didn’t come home,” recalls Hickson.

The trial, which is expected to take three weeks, continues Wednesday.
