A by-election will determine which of the six candidates will win Fannie Bay’s prized Northern Territory Assembly seat.

Saturday’s vote It offers a successor to Michael Gunner, who vacated Darwin’s seat after the Territory’s prime minister also resigned.

Labor’s Brent Potter took the top spot on the ballot, with his main rival Ben Hosking of the Country Liberals coming in sixth.

Potter is a veteran and father of four who recently worked as a government advisor.

Hosking owns a small business and is a former police officer.

Three independents — George Mamozelos, Raj Samson Radziwin and Leah Potter — have also challenged the poll, along with Green Party candidate Jonathan Parry.

About 5,400 people have registered to vote in Fanny Bay, and some choose to vote early or vote by mail.
