MAFS star Christopher Mark Jensen admits drug trafficking

Jensen, 34, will appear on the 2021 season of Married At First Sight, with charges dating back to 2017 still pending.

Queensland Supreme Court Judge Paul Freeburn said an indictment would normally result in a prison sentence.

Jensen was arrested on the Sunshine Coast in October 2017. The court heard that the then 29-year-old man had purchased large amounts of cannabis, “in some cases cocaine and his MDMA,” which he had been selling in Peregian Springs for four months.

Jensen used an encrypted messaging app to connect with suppliers and customers and received eight cannabis shipments from June to October 2017. The amount ranged from 450 grams to 7 kilograms.

Jensen was arrested in October 2017 after police raided his Sunshine Coast residence and found 197 grams of cannabis and $5,800 in cash.

Prosecutor Michael Andronikas said, “These were unloaded in a significant amount in a short period of time.”

“It is best described as a period of intense trafficking.”

Jensen has been out on bail since his arrest and has been able to appear on television shows.

“You were arrested on these charges four years and ten months ago,” Judge Freeburn said.

“Why it took so long for these charges to come to court is a mystery.

“I have heard various incidents that have occurred…none of them explain the unusual delay.

“I normally impose custody proceedings for serious crimes of this nature (but) in my view this is an exceptional case.”

Jensen pleaded guilty to four counts, including two counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count of trafficking dangerous drugs.

He was sentenced to four years in prison and immediately suspended for four years.

Jensen’s time at MAFS was short-lived. Because he quit the show after a week after accusing his “wife” girlfriend Jaimie of being a “fake.”
