Eric ten Hag has said it is “unacceptable” for Cristiano Ronaldo and other Manchester United players to leave Old Trafford before Sunday’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano.
After taking a strong side to Oslo to face Atlético Madrid on Saturday, United are gearing up for pre-season to face another Spanish team the next day.

United drew 1-1 with Rayo at Old Trafford.
The 37-year-old has missed the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia due to family issues and Diogo Dalot was pictured leaving Sunday’s game before full time.
Ten Hag did not speak in front of the media after the match, but has now expressed his displeasure with broadcaster Viaplay.
“There were a lot more players[including Ronaldo]who went home,” said the United manager. “This is unacceptable for anyone,” he said. “Tell them that’s unacceptable, we’re a team, we’re a squad, and we should stay until the end.”
Ten Hag will be in charge of United’s first match as manager at home to Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday.
It comes a week after Ronaldo returned to training to discuss his future at Old Trafford with his coach.
Ronaldo, who missed the club’s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia for personal reasons, wants to leave the club he returned to last year.
He arrived at United’s Carrington training base with agent Jorge Mendes, as did former United manager Alex Ferguson.
New United manager Ten Hag said earlier this month that Ronaldo was “not for sale”.
“We are planning to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this season and that’s it. I’m looking forward to working with him,” he said.
“I read it and what I mean is that Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want to succeed together.” The former Real Madrid and Juventus player was United’s top scorer last season with 24 goals.
However, the campaign was a huge disappointment for the club, who finished sixth in the Premier League and missed out on Champions League qualification.
