The Biden administration recently announced a series of regulations restricting the export of advanced chips, chip manufacturing equipment and design software made with technology from the United States.

Phelan told Sky News Australia that “virtually all senior U.S. engineers involved in chip manufacturing and the Chinese chip industry have resigned immediately.”

“And ASML, a Dutch supplier of capital equipment used to make high-end chips, has stopped serving Chinese customers.

“So… I think the Americans expected a third period. They were concerned about China’s progress in weaponizing chips, artificial intelligence, these things, so they stepped in. I think It is America’s last move against China in the biggest ‘years. ”
