Nova’s Fitzy, Wippa, and Sarah Recall Awkward Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio Moments

The radio host shared an awkward encounter with a Hollywood mogul this morning and remembered the shame of being denied a photo in public.

“We were at a restaurant abroad and Denzel Washington showed up at the restaurant,” he recalls.

“I started heading over to Denzel Washington to take pictures (and) the guy who ran the restaurant was like a middleman so he jumped in between us and I was like, ‘Denzel! Photo?’

“So he jumps in and looks at Denzel, and Denzel shakes his head as if to say no, and the man looks at me and says no.”

His story inspired Sarah and Fitzy to chime in with a similar failure involving Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio. They found it one night at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles while they were visiting the city.

“Salle, you were a little drunk, so I went up to you (asking for a picture) and encouraged you,” Fitsy began.

“He was wearing a hat and had a cigarette in his mouth… ‘I’m not taking pictures’ and Sarah turned and came back,” he recalled, noting that Sarah “Friendly at 3am”.

“Then I tried to sneakily steal[the photos]anyway, but security stole my phone,” Sarah added.

The radio star doesn’t always hang out with celebrities, but he does have a friendship with British superstar Ed Sheeran.

In a recent interview, Sheeran, 31, spoke about a similar phallic statuette he gifted Elton John for his 74th birthday, fulfilling a promise that he offered to send one to the Nova host as well.

It turns out he wasn’t a bluff, and the two were bestowed with their own Australian-themed version.

“That’s a huge d**k in a box!” Whippa said when co-hosts pulled the stone appendage out of its package during the June broadcast, “It looks a little like you!” I teased and shouted with glee. Because Fitsy was struggling with its size.
