NZ Ease where the T20 series sweeps the Netherlands

New Zealand secured a clean sweep of the Twenty20 series with an eight-wicket victory over the Netherlands thanks to an unbeaten partnership of the century between Mitchell Santner and Darryl Mitchell.

In response to Holland’s 4-147, Santner posted a career-high 77 no-outs and Mitchell 51 no-outs to help New Zealand 2-149. They won on Friday with six overs left.

The Black Caps took their first T20 with 16 runs on Thursday and were even more convincing this time.

Santner came to the crease in two overs when Martin Guptyl was bowled for two. His first shot was to hit Tim Pringle over the long-on fence.

Finn Allen went down in the next over on the 13th and Mitchell joined Santner. They combined 123 runs on 65 balls, of which only 15 were not scored.

Santner reached the first T20 50 with 29 balls after being dropped for 43 and 56.

Mitchell took all strikes in 14 overs and scored a second T20 50 rushing from 33 to two 6s, 2s and a match-winning boundary.

The Dutchman chose to bat first, with Bas de Leede trailing his 66 on Thursday with another team-high 53.

New Zealand has now completed a European tour that began in late May and includes England, Ireland and Scotland.

But their journey isn’t over. They will go to the West Indies for three T20s and three ODIs from next Wednesday.
