Olivia Newtown-John dies at 73

In a statement posted on Newton-John’s official Facebook account, Newton-John’s family requested donations to the fund in her memory.

Although Newton-John received an OBE in 1979 and became a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2019, the title Dame Olivia was never used routinely.

She was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2019 she became a Companion of the Order of Australia.

Newton-John was married twice. She first met actor Matt Rattanzi in 1984 on the set of a movie. XanaduThe couple had a daughter, Chloe, in 1986 and divorced amicably in 1995.

In 2008, Newton-John married businessman John Easterling in an Inca spiritual ceremony.The couple purchased a home on Jupiter Island, Florida, but never moved there. They later purchased a horse ranch in the Santa Innes Valley outside of Santa Barbara.

Newton-John survived Easterling, daughter Chloe Rattanzi, sister Sarah Newton-John, and brother Toby Newton-John.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Totti, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith. Emerson, Charlie, Zack, Jeremy, Randall, Pierce Newton John. Jude Newton Stock, Layla Lee. Kira and Tasha Edelstein. And Brynn and Valerie Hall.
