Rublev beats Korda in Gijón to win 12th title

Andrei Rublev won his fourth ATP title of the year by beating Sebastian Korda in straight sets in the Gijon Open final.

The Russian has already won in Belgrade, Dubai and Marseille this year and added another crown to his collection with a convincing 6-2 6-3 win in the 75th minute against Korda on Sunday. Added.

Top-seeded Rublev once again impressed the American with 29 winners, three breaks and just four unforced errors, dropping only one set in three games leading to the final.

Korda, who was chasing his second tour-level trophy following his success in Parma last year, suffered service breaks in the fourth and eighth games of the first set.

Rublev was too strong in the second set, earning his only break in the sixth game.

Rublev crossed the line on his fourth match point to join Novak Djokovic for four ATP Finals berths and remain sixth.
