Prince Charles made “unpleasant” comments about Princess Diana

Prince Charles, the successor to the throne, allegedly made “unpleasant” comments to his brother about his ex-wife, Princess Diana, a few days after her death in 1997.

Historian Robert Lacey wrote: Brothers’ Battle: Inside Story of a Family of Turbulence Charles told Diana’s brother, Charles, and Spencer, the 9th Earl, that his former relatives had fought over a funeral arrangement. Apparently, Spencer objected to his nephew walking the entire public funeral procession behind his mother’s casket.

“Prince Charles was convinced that he should walk a long way with his sons by his side,” Lacy wrote in the following excerpt. Man.. “But Uncle Charles Spencer disagreed. He was already angry on behalf of his family that his sister’s funeral was hijacked by a royal event. He was especially angry with his young nephew’s mother. I opposed the idea that I had to walk the street for about a mile behind the casket.

“Spencer was convinced that Diana would have been scared of the idea that her sons had to endure such trials,” Lacy added. “He was already talking to Charles as much.”
