Putin agrees with nuclear inspectors

Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to allow nuclear inspectors to visit Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant and held a telephone conversation with his French counterpart.
French President Emmanuel Macron has told the Russian president that he is concerned about the safety risks of Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, Elise says.
Putin also agreed to send a mission of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts to the site, he added.
The two leaders agreed to continue talks in the coming days, according to a document sent to journalists by Macron’s office.

A Ukrainian nuclear operator said on Friday it suspected Moscow was planning to disconnect the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant from Ukraine’s power grid.
Putin blamed Kyiv for shelling a Russian-controlled nuclear facility, saying it created the risk of a “massive catastrophe”.
