SA’s unemployment rate declines with the number of full-time jobs

Employment statistics for September were released this morning, revealing that the seasonally adjusted national unemployment rate rose slightly from 6.8% in August to 6.9%.
Surprisingly, the pandemic-stricken unemployment rate in Victoria fell from 7.1% in August to 6.7%, despite a 35,000 decline in employment, but participation fell by 1%. Did.
Queensland currently has the worst unemployment rate in Australia at 7.7%, followed by Tasmania (7.6%) and New South Wales (7.2%).

In September, South Australia’s employment increased by 8,700, while full-time employment decreased by 1,500.
The seasonally adjusted participation rate, which measures the proportion of the working-age population during employment or employment, was stable at 62.5%.
Nationally, participation has dropped to 64.8% and employment has dropped to 12,571,900.
The monthly underemployment rate increased slightly to 11.4%.
Innovation and Skills Minister David Pisoni said another 36,000 South Australians have found jobs in the last four months, and maintaining and expanding employment has been a top priority for the state government.
“We are doing our best to help as many local jobs as possible overcome the biggest economic challenges of our time, so we have 2 billion, including significant payroll and land tax reductions. We are taking measures to stimulate the dollar’s economy, “he said.
The government has provided $ 10,000 in emergency cash grants to more than 18,000 companies and nonprofits, and has spent $ 12 billion in infrastructure spending over four years, according to Pisoni.
