Shaq: NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal returns to Australian nightclubs as DJ Diesel

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal returns as the DJ alter ego this month with one-off performances at two nightclubs in Australia.

It will be the Hall of Famer’s first visit to the country in over 20 years, and he will make a series of public appearances in Sydney and Melbourne.

“I’m really excited about this long-awaited Australian tour,” O’Neill said in a statement.

“It’s the first time I’ve been back in such a long time and I can’t wait to meet the Australians.”

The 7-foot-1 basketball great made his debut as DJ Diesel on the 1993 platinum album Shaq Diesel.

O’Neal made his long-awaited return to the international festival circuit with appearances at Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland and Imagine.

Tickets for his gig on August 24th at Melbourne nightclub 170 Russell sold out quickly, with yscu, Big Boss, Miicha, CHENDA and Balaram supporting him.

He has already sold out his second event on August 27th at Sydney’s Stars Marquee nightclub.

O’Neill is a four-time NBA champion, playing for six teams in his 19-year career, including the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.
