After serving as senior coach for the past 11 seasons, Simpson has chosen not to take on any match day coaching duties, leaving interim coach Jarrad Schofield with the responsibilities.
“We offered him the chance, but Adam declined today,” CEO Don Pyke stated. “We respect his decision and fully understand it.”
While Simpson won’t be coaching during the match itself, he will participate in the preparations leading up to kickoff.
“I’m eager for the chance to express my gratitude to our members and fans for their incredible support over the past 11 years,” Simpson remarked.
“They’ve been outstanding since my arrival and have stood by us.
“It’s easy to show up every week when things are going well, but they’ve been with us through the tough times of the last three years. They’re simply the best.”
