Tim David shines at the T20 World Cup

Tim David’s career as an Australian representative may not be limited to the sport’s Twenty20 format.

According to T20 skipper Aaron Finch, it was David’s bat power, skill on the ball and ability on the field, and Australia’s new wildcard could also play cricket for a day in his country.

“He’s a star,” Finch said of the 26-year-old all-rounder ahead of the T20 World Cup.

“He is well-recognized in the T20 scene around the world, but he also has the advantage of being able to focus on one format.

“This allows him to be really professional. He’s as pretty as a ball striker you get, bowls some useful overs, and is pretty good on the field too, so it’s going to be a 1 for him in time too.” It could lead to cricket of the day.

“By the end of the tournament, he will definitely be famous.”

Finch admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by David’s coolness in the “finishing role” of batting.

“For someone who has the ability to really calm down under pressure during a very desperate time in the game, it probably surprised me a little.

“This comes from having played a lot of T20 cricket in a similar role over the past few years.

“I think he’s played over 120 games in the last two years. It’s extraordinary to have so much experience so quickly.”

Ahead of Monday’s warm-up match against India in Brisbane, Finch said his side is “really close to nailing it” in its bid to make a successful T2 World Cup defense. .

“As for the bat, there were probably too many one-wicket downs, leading to a back eight over,” he said.

“It would be nice if we lost two, but (but) we were three, so every time we build a partnership, we lose one, and we lose a little bit of momentum.

“For the ball, we’ve been really good throughout. We’re really close.

“This is about making sure that we cover as many bases as possible in tournaments where the format is really brutal.

“I feel that everyone is in a really good place. There is a real calmness in our group and I am sure that just doing our best for the day is enough…but we have a little bit of luck at the T20 World Cup as well. Is required.

“This format is good for knocking out teams in one performance or changing the course of a tournament.

“You have to accept it and hope you’re on the right side of it. There are enough winners that can put enough pressure on the opposing team.”
