SPC is strategically investing in the Kuisine Company

The iconic Australian agribusiness SPC has acquired a majority stake in The Kuisine Company, an Australian manufacturer of frozen instant foods and finger foods based in Emu Planes, New South Wales.

Over the last two decades, Kuisine has grown to be one of Australia’s leading producers of high quality side dishes and finger foods, along with a wide range of clients including NSW Health, NDIS, Meals on Wheels and other food service clients.

Last year, Kuisine won a second five-year contract to supply the NSW Health Hospital Network with 72% of its instant food requirements. The contract requires hospitals in New South Wales to be provided with 9 million meals annually at full deployment.

Robert Giles, CEO of SPC, said:

“We were impressed with Kuisine’s success and found a great opportunity to rapidly expand both businesses.”

The acquisition also includes Kuisine’s wholly owned brands, The Good Meal Co, The Gluten Free Meal Co and Simply Special. Jitesh Gohil will continue to be General Manager and Director of the Kuisine Business.

“The scale and scope of Kuisine’s capabilities means we can expand our offerings to include frozen foods, finger foods and ready-made meals. It’s an exciting time for both businesses,” Giles continues.

“This announcement is in line with our strategy of becoming a global agribusiness, which continues with the acquisition of Pomlife earlier this year and a joint venture with Döhler.

“It is manufacturers and innovators who help drive the post-COVID economic recovery in Australia. We all take advantage of the opportunities to support these businesses to serve the Australian population as well as the world. We need to be able to become a major brand that offers, “said Giles.

Pran Gohil, director of Kuisine, said: “We are proud to build such a high quality family-owned business for our customers across Australia. SPC is committed to providing high quality food to people in Australia and other countries. , An ideal partner to take your business to the next level of growth. We look forward to supporting SPC through this transition. “
