Sip champagne at 40,000 feet and go from glitzy parties to award ceremonies and back to the plane in time for bed. It’s a tough life to own a luxury jet and become a big star.
But this week, highlife is on fire as celebrities are named and shamed for their excessive use of private planes.
A private jet emits as much carbon dioxide in an hour as the average person in a year, and private flights are 14 times more polluting (per passenger) than commercial flights. Brings
But their ultra-wealthy owners (many of whom clearly boast eco-credentials) hop on and off jets for trips that take less than 15 minutes. Using data compiled by international flight trackers, British marketing agency Yard has compiled a list of the worst offenders.
So whose plane is the worst polluter? And who is the biggest climate hypocrite among high flyers?

THE JET: With an estimated net worth of over £2 billion, it’s no wonder TV host Oprah has his own luxury plane. The 68-year-old bought her £62m Gulfstream G650 in 2016. This was after reportedly getting annoyed when a female fan asked her for a hug while she was standing in line at the airport.
