Take your gaming to the next level with the PlayStation DualSense Edge controller

If you’re serious about gaming on your Sony PlayStation 5, you need the new DualSense Edge wireless controller that takes players to the next level.
Tech Guide received a DualSense Edge controller from PlayStation Australia for review and used it primarily in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
It’s aptly called an edge because that’s exactly what it can give you – an edge against an opponent that can make the difference between winning and losing.
Added controls and settings allow you to become a more efficient player along with your skills and reflexes.
You can also customize the controls and triggers to suit the game you’re playing, just to your liking.
It has a replaceable stick cap. There are 3 sets in total. Different heights and textures ensure stability and grip.
This is important in games where you need to move and react quickly.
But with a stick you can replace the entire module with a new one sold separately.
The plate below the thumbsticks can be removed using a small locking switch on the base of the controller.
On the front, there are new function keys that let you switch between preset game profiles and adjust the game volume without leaving the game.
Press and hold one of these keys to access the on-screen menu.
The DualSense Edge controller has a dedicated back button that can be mapped to your game.
The hard case that comes with the controller has two sets of removable buttons. One set is a half-dome that protrudes from the controller, and the other set is a flat lever that wraps around the base of the controller.
But what they both have in common is the precision fingertips on the underside of the controller.
This way, you can have the controls you use most often, or those you literally need to access right away, right at your fingertips.
One of our favorite new features is the adjustable trigger length that allows you to manually set the left and right triggers.
Set these to medium settings. Sliding the switch all the way down reduces the trigger travel, and sliding it all the way up sets the trigger travel to a normal level.
I found this tweak useful while playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare II.
The left trigger is for aiming and the right trigger is for firing the weapon.
Shorter trigger travel allowed these settings to take effect more quickly. I wanted the right trigger to stay mostly on while playing, so I left it on the middle setting. The shortest setting can cause your weapon to fire when you don’t need it.
The Sony DualSense Edge controller comes with a 2.8m braided cable so you can connect to your console while sitting on your couch or gaming desk.
The cable also comes with a lockable connector housing that locks the cable in place and prevents it from accidentally disconnecting from the controller.
That’s something you don’t want to happen, especially in the middle of the game.
Now let’s talk about price. That much control and customization comes at a price of $339.95.
This includes the DualSense Edge controller, braided cable, cable lockable connector, extra back key, extra stick caps, and a hard case to keep it safe and sound to take anywhere.
If you’re serious about gaming, you need a serious controller, and the Sony PlayStation DualSense Edge wireless controller is a pro-level accessory that certainly fits the bill.
