Tesla Model Y customer deliveries start tomorrow in Australia (Update: Canberra owner becomes first Model Y owner)

The first custom is supposed to already have the first model Y. These images are from the Model Y in Canberra, reportedly taken tonight (4/8/22) at Supercharger.

The first deliveries of the Tesla Model Y in Australia are coming soon. After years of waiting, the day has finally come for Australian customers to get their hands on a Model Y.

The Tesla Model Y is an all-electric midsize SUV that’s selling faster than Tesla can build it, and for good reason. If you haven’t read it yet, First impression or saw Full Model Y reviewcheck these posts.

Over the past few weeks, the Tesla forums have been filled with customers who placed their orders early on June 10th. Many of them have an estimated delivery date in their Tesla account. The first of those is scheduled for tomorrow, with a number of Model Ys about to be delivered to customers based on sightings on Australian roads.

The Tesla Model Y provides the space and storage many Australian families need, while also offering great technology, scope and charging network more.

The Model Y is selling very well internationally, often taking the top spot in EV sales from the Model 3. Our Model Y is built at Tesla’s Shanghai factory, and the first model available is the Standard Range RWD variant, with performance specs hitting the streets in a few months.

Australia has struggled to supply enough electric cars in the country, but Tesla has expanded production in China to around 1 million a year and is thankfully shipping thousands to Australia. Knocking out RHD. Our adoption of electric vehicles is slower than many other developed countries, but the Model Y will help move about 2% of new car sales forward.

What’s interesting about Tesla’s offering is the brand’s ability to draw customers out of the car at a much lower price point, which is a testament to the overall ownership experience. Not only that, but brands like Honda, Mazda, Toyota, Subaru and Kia should also be concerned about the introduction of the Model Y.

The model has already sold out for 2022 and new orders today are expected to be delivered from February to May 2023. We look forward to seeing more electric vehicles on the road. Hopefully Tesla will continue to expand their Supercharger network to keep up.
