The man was shot dead in Whittington

A man who shot overnight in Geelong died.

On Tuesday morning, murder detectives stayed at Whittington’s scene and forensic medicine was seen entering and exiting the property all night.

Police believe that shooting is not a random attack and the parties are known to each other.

Police were called to a house on the border road when emergency personnel responded to reports that a man had been shot dead at around 7:20 pm on Monday.

Sergeant Julie Ann Newman said the exact circumstances surrounding the case were still established and the crime scene was set up at the facility.

“Detectives make many follow-up inquiries about the parties involved, and in this early stage it is believed that the parties are known to each other,” she said.

Specialized police, including local police, detectives, and dog squads, were seen visiting the area overnight.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
