In 2016, Vice President Joe Biden issued a warning against efforts to unravel banking regulations that Democrats fought to implement after the financial crisis, just as the emerging Trump administration decided to loosen banking regulations. Biden argued that without the massive banking reform of 2010, known as the Dodd-Frank Act, financial institutions would continue gambling with consumer cash, ultimately hurting the middle class. Now with a banking crisis under his oversight as president, Biden will assure the public that it is contained, bank executives are fired, deposits are safe and taxpayers are not at stake.
