Trump home raided by FBI sparks political uproar

Monday’s shocking move marked a startling escalation of legal investigations into the 45th president of the United States, drawing cheers from political opponents and condemnation from allies.

He accused the FBI raid of “weaponizing the justice system” by “radical left Democrats who desperately don’t want me running for president in 2024.”

However, multiple U.S. media outlets have reported that investigators have been sued by the courts in connection with the possible mishandling of classified documents sent to Mar-Arago after Trump left the White House in January 2021. He said he was authorized to search.

Since leaving office, Trump has remained the country’s most divisive figure, continuing to sow the falsehood that he actually won the 2020 election.

Leading Republicans rallied around the former president, who was not in Mar-a-Lago when the raid took place.

Democrats responded cautiously or declined to comment.

Connecticut Democrat Senator Chris Murphy said, “We will cease to be America when we decide that the rich and powerful are above the law.”

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe believes investigators may have been looking for “something specific” related to the classified information handling investigation.

The recovery of the box raised questions about Trump’s compliance with the Presidential Records Act, which was enacted after the Watergate scandal in the 1970s, requiring Oval Office residents to keep records.

Farrah Griffin said: “If that’s seen as some kind of massive overkill, rather than something incredibly serious, today is a very good day for Donald Trump.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland has been careful not to reach out when asked if the Justice Department is filing a lawsuit against Trump over the Capitol riots.

An administration official said the White House “has not been notified of the reported behavior” and referred further questions to the Justice Department.
