Ukrainian city builds air raid shelter at bus station

A 12-passenger strike shelter was set up at a bus station in Kharkov, Ukraine, on Friday 19 August. It is the first of 25 structures planned to help the city’s citizens stay safe from Russian artillery fire. Footage shared by Suspilne Kharkiv shows him one of such shelters in the city. Suspilne reports that the building is made of concrete and features 12 seats, television screens with surveillance cameras, and 220 pounds (100 kg) of sand for fire fighting. Kharkiv mayor Ikhor Terekhov has pledged to build 25 such shelters in the city, the report added. Credit: Suspilne Kharkiv via Storyful
