Victorian police fines party participants after violating blockade restrictions
The house party ended with a fine of over $ 21,000 after police discovered that 20 insiders weren’t wearing face masks or were socially distant.
Police officers raided the party at Bentley’s address in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne around 1:10 am Saturday after receiving loud music complaints.
Upon entering the South Road apartment, some party participants climbed to the rooftop of a nearby company and fled.
Police also found four people hiding on the roof of a nearby site and were fined when they got off.
Overall, 13 people were each fined $ 1652 and a huge fine of $ 21,476 for violating the instructions of Chief Health Officer COVID-19.
Victorian police have imposed a total of 79 fines in the last 24 hours. This includes 7 cases of failure to wear a face mask and 11 cases at a vehicle checkpoint.
Brett Sutton, Chief Health Officer of Victoria, warned that the number of cases of coronavirus was double-digit long, mainly due to community outbreaks.
After the state recorded 14 more infections on Saturday, the premiere issued a strict blockade warning against Melvanian.
“This second wave story is always stubborn, and that’s exactly how it’s panned out. I don’t think we can move as fast as we want next Sunday,” said Daniel Andrews.
“We will take action next Sunday, and (we) spend a great deal of time this weekend and week to determine exactly what those next steps are.”
