Between overs, the camera panned to the hills of Hobart’s Brandstone Arena and chaos ensued.
A young child managed to climb over the railing at the bottom of the hill and hit his head on the ground just below.
A man was then seen frantically chasing after the infants and jumping over railings to retrieve them.
The footage has gone viral on social media and is linked to the unfortunate incident of cricket fans and parents. The video has been viewed over 300,000 times.
The child suffered minor cuts and bruises, but thankfully is unharmed.
As for the match itself, Scotland turned out to be a huge upset as they defeated two-time T20 World Cup winners the West Indies by 42 runs.
Scotland posted a defendable total of 5/160 from 20 overs, largely thanks to George Munsey’s 66 knots out in the opener.
The West Indies got off to a reasonable start in their innings, but regularly lost wickets and never had a chance to hunt down the total.
Windies had a terrible collapse, losing seven wickets for just 26 runs, giving Scotland the upper hand.
Jason Holder stabilized the ship somewhat, top-scoring with 38, but he was one of only four West Indies players to reach double figures.
Scotland bowled a very fanciful opponent for 118 in 19 overs and captain Mark Watt finished with figures of 3/12 in 4 overs.
The West Indies lifted the trophy in 2012 and 2016, a surprise Scottish upset against the only team to win the T20 World Cup more than once.
Scottish victory was the next day Namibia beat Sri Lanka With 55 runs to open the T20 World Cup in absolute boilover.
What makes this result even more surprising is the fact that Scotland have only played two T20 internationals since last year’s T20 World Cup.
This result means Scotland are top of Group B in the qualifying group stage of the tournament, with the top two teams from Groups A and B advancing to the Super 12 stage.
Meanwhile, Australia suffered a late collapse against India in their final warm-up game, losing by six runs.
Australia’s T20 World Cup campaign takes on New Zealand on Saturday at the SCG.
