Monique McCutchan, a tea merchant and co-founder of the Monista Tea Company, and her husband, lawyer Matthew Hibbins, with 15-year-old Emma, 13-year-old Angus, 11-year-old Eleanor, and their dog. Basil and the cat Leo.
what we did
“In 2019 we rebuilt the rear upstairs,” says Monique. “A brief to architect John Watkins and decorator Adelaide Bragg was a classic and timeless design that complements the front of the house.”

“The front sitting room, a great place to read, have a conversation, and have a cup of tea. Full of books on history, gardens, and art that inspire me to make tea.” .”

“We love the shops in Hawksburn Village,” says Monique. “Our favorites are Bistro Thierry, Manon Bis and KittyK boutique.”
Future Plans
“Just to enjoy this home for a while. We are currently doing a major renovation to our country home with the help of Adelaide Bragg.
best advice
“Once you do it, you can do it well. Also, get professional help because it costs less than an expensive failure,” says Monique.
“My favorite chair is called the ‘monkey chair’ by my kids,” says Monique. “This is where I spend a lot of time writing my tea blending stories.”credit:Almer Habib
