An emergency caller who responded to flood victims in Victoria early Sunday was the victim of a crime when his car was broken into outside his office in Ballarat.
Police confirmed about 15 cars had been broken into the Enterprise Grove parking lot on Mount Helen around 2:00 am.
The car windows were smashed before the car was looted. Exactly what was stolen is unknown.
Police said they were investigating a possible link to other thefts from vehicles in the Warrenhype and Mount Helen areas over the weekend.
Danny Hill, secretary of the Victorian Ambulance Union, took to Twitter to denounce the break-in as a “disgusting act.”
