Manchester United’s England international Greenwood arrested

Manchester United and England forward Mason Greenwood has been arrested on suspicion of breaching bail conditions.

A 21-year-old woman was first detained in January on suspicion of raping and assaulting a young woman after images and videos were posted online.

He was also questioned on suspicion of making death threats and has since been released on bail.

A police spokesperson said: “Greater Manchester Police are aware of allegations that a 21-year-old man has breached his bail conditions and was arrested on Saturday 15 October 2022.

“We are currently investigating.”

Greenwood, who made one appearance for England, was suspended from playing or training for the Red Devils within hours after allegations surfaced online earlier in the year.

Nike suspended and later terminated its sponsorship deal with Greenwood, and Electronic Arts confirmed his dismissal from the active squad at the Fifa 22 game.
