Mega marathon ending in Bondi

Looking at his Instagram story just after 10am on Monday, Brockmann appeared to be in good spirits as he made his way to the coastline.

“Clouds are coming in. Birds are singing, cars are driving by, and we’re going home,” he said in the video.

“We’re coming home, baby, donate if you haven’t already. Today is the last f—ing day.”

The Bora Sports mega-marathoner runs alongside his parents Kylie and Ian Brockman, girlfriend Gemma Griffin, friend and photographer Bradley Farley, and his team of physios and sponsors.

speaking on 2GB On Monday morning, his mother, Kylie, said nothing was stopping her son from completing the race.

“He will be hospitalized before he stops,” she said.

“It’s been a very difficult and heartbreaking time, but Ned’s energy feeds us. He’ll be pretty excited about the energy that’s around him.” [at the finish line]”

Brockman’s spokesman, James Ward, encouraged the public to go to the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club on Monday afternoon and cheer him on to the finish line.

“Ned woke up this morning feeling so energized for the day and came home in great spirits. He went to Bondi to celebrate the end of his epic run and thank you for the incredible support. I can’t wait to do it,” he told this masthead.

“Rain, hail or shine, he will finish around 5:30 p.m. We can’t wait to get as many people here as possible.”

Around 55mm of rain hit Sydney from 2am and the rain presented yet another challenge in the second half of Brockman’s run.

Rain is expected to ease for the rest of Monday, with 3mm of rain expected in the port city on Tuesday.

Rain is expected to return on Thursday, with clear skies and temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius on Wednesday before up to 10mm of precipitation is forecast.
