Brockmann originally hoped that in 2005, German ultramarathon runner Achim Heukemes would break the all-time record of crossing Australia in 43 days.

However, after sustaining an injury around Day 12, he had to reduce his mileage to recover.

In 2020, Brockman achieved the incredible feat of running 50 marathons in 50 consecutive days, raising over $100,000 for the Australian Red Cross.
