Paid parental leave extended to 6 months by 2026

Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell says the government’s announcement to extend paid parental leave will allow Labor to make a ‘good news announcement’ ahead of a budget expected to see ‘more cuts than anything else’. said.

“And it rewards the female vote that has enabled Labor to come to power,” Clennell said.

“This announcement means that the scheme will be extended from 20 to 26 weeks from 2024 to 2026.”

Clennell said this was a big problem that emerged at the government’s Jobs and Skills Summit in early September.

“We are targeting people with an annual income of less than $156,000.

“This is especially helpful for people working in small businesses.”
