Police charge two teenagers after high-speed chase in Schofield, Sydney

Two teenage boys have been charged after being chased at high speed by police in northwest Sydney.

Shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report that a white BMW had been stolen from their home in Rouse Hill overnight.

Police found the vehicle in Schofields and attempted to stop it on Vineyard’s Boundary Rd.

However, when the car could not be stopped, the police launched a chase.

Dramatic footage from a dash cam shows a white BMW perilously weaving between cars at high speed on a single-lane road.

Roadside signs indicate that the speed limit is 60km/h, as the car barely avoids colliding with a truck while overtaking.

Given safety concerns, police ended a street chase in Pitttown.

As the car passed northwest Sydney at high speed, a Polea helicopter was dispatched to continue the pursuit.

At approximately 9:20 am, the car was abandoned in the parking lot of Schofield’s Railway Terrace.

Perimeters were established and police units, including dog squads, riot police and local police officers, began searching the surrounding area.

A short time later, two teenage boys aged 14 and 16 were arrested inside a shopping center.

They were both taken to Riverstone Police Station.

The white BMW is seized by the police and undergoes a forensic examination.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with police pursuit of refusing to stop driving dangerously, driving a hijacked passenger vehicle without owner’s consent, driving on roads without a license, defrauding and illegally obtaining property. it was done.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged without the owner’s consent and illegally acquiring property through fraud.

Both were denied bail and are scheduled to appear in children’s court on Wednesday.
